Zombie Gnomes and Bloody masks and Chainsaws, Oh my!

The warm weather is finally returning and the beginning of spring means the dawn of more undead for RevenantFX!

We’ve been busy little cadavers,; conjuring spells and raising the dead is hard work but we’ve got lots of new stuff to show you 😉

First off , we have some new latex masks that will be ready for this season.  Here’s the first, a skin mask in the making. It will be available in a wearable version and a display version in the coming months. Enjoy!

Secondly, we have here our newest addition to our little Walking Dead Clan. He will also be cast in late and offered in both wearable and display version. With many different paint schemes available. We believe that one company can never truly have too many different Zombie Heads to choose from. 🙂

Next up we have a work in progress. The newest member of our Garden Nightmares collection. From deep within the bizarre annals of American history comes a strange, possibly inbred killer. Best known for his love of Chainsaws. His penchant for taxidermy and his mask. We proudly present The Texas Chainsaw Butcher. He’s 12″ tall and can’t wait to become your personal arborist. He’ll be available in the coming weeks via our Etsy shop here: https://www.etsy.com/people/Revenantfx The only question that remains is… Who in the Garden will Survive? And what will be left of them…?

Last but most definitely not least, Riber Mortis! You may ask what is Riber Mortis? A recent cause of death thought to be linked with the current dine -in special at your local BBQ joint?
Well possibly..
But not in this case.
Riber Mortis is the name of RevenantFX‘s  newest Zombie Gnome!
Torn and tattered
Ravaged and battered
Rigor to stay
And ribs on display.
This ravenous beast seems to actually be enjoying his life after death. As his taste for brains far surpasses the lack of taste he brought to the lawn while in life. A true carnivore, it is thought that he may actually be the one responsible for eating his arm… (Gnome wings?) who knows?… What we do know, he stands 12” tall and is cast in solid gypsum cement. Handcasted, hand-painted and
hand finished with a high gloss outdoor sealer.

More to come soon! Until then…

365 Days Later…

Hey There, We didn’t get to post this on here last week so here it is now :p

To all our many fans, friends, fiends and fellow zombie enthusiasts. It was exactly 1 year ago today that we cast our first zombie gnome.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu vs. The Undead – Zombie Survival w/RevenantFX

Soo… Zombie survival is today’s topic. Ever wonder how to fend off the undead while your down?  Rob McAlpine has the answer for you in the form of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!

Over the summer we had the privilege of vending at the Toronto Runforyourlives event at Burl’s Creek. To say it was an interesting experience would be an understatement; zombies, runners, mud, rain and gale force winds combined to make for an epic outing with the undead. Needless to say, we had a great time and got to meet plenty of awesome people, sell lots of zombie gnomes, give lots of zombie makeup advice and spread the infection a little more while we were at it 😉

Among all of those awesome people we met one stood out in particular as he got us to help him out with making a short instructional video on how to defend yourself against the dead. His name is Robert McAlpine and he is a master of dispatching the undead, you can see more of his videos here: http://www.youtube.com/user/robertwmcalpine?feature=watch

So without further a due, remember: Zombie survival is an essential skill so check it out below…. it may save your life 😉

Handmade Horror

Just like Zombie Gnomes, Handmade and OOAK horror items can be hard to come by. Over the Christmas holidays we each received a few amazing pieces made by some fellow independent horror  inspired artists as gifts.

As huge horrorhounds ourselves, we’re constantly on the lookout for rare, unique, handmade and OOAK items that pertain to zombies, horror, Halloween  and generally anything that goes bump in the night. That said, we realize its our obligatory duty to share some for these amazing acquisitions with you!

better a little late than never :p

The Devil’s Latex

First we have the “Burnt Guy” mask made by The Devil’s Latex. He’s not the first mask we’ve got from them and he won’t be the last either but dear god! He is AMAZING!!

Thick latex, insanely detailed paint job, acrylic eyes… what more could you ask for? Every feature one would look for in a latex mask and for a great price too!

Steve is also an awesome guy to deal with as well and he’s probably got the biggest/best line of Slasher masks available anywhere (Jason, Freddy, Myers, Leatherface, etc. he’s got them all)

So if your in the market for some sick latex check them out here:  http://www.thedevilslatex.com

the devils latex freddy

Knives4Fingers Gloves

The next item we received was a Nightmare On Elm Street replica glove from K4F Gloves and this thing is to die for (much pun intended). It’s Such a cool piece that since we got it, it’s spend more time on my hand than in the display case.

The gloves are 100% handmade with copper/brass plates and fingers, stainless steel blades and a leather or suede glove. Each one comes burnt, weathered and nasty just like on screen. We got a part one and it even included the index finger break as seen in the original movie (look close, it’s there! )

Very well crafted & sturdy… The Burnt Man himself would approve!

They can be found here: http://k4fgloves.com/index.shtml

ChopShopClothing

One of the more fashion oriented pieces Sadie got was a handmade+ up-cycled Michael Myers dress. Each of these are made to order in a size and style of your choice.  There are also a few different options for the straps and edging.

Eryn was a pleasure to deal with and got it shipped out super quick in time to arrive before Christmas. She’s got tons more designs and different graphics available in her Etsy shop here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/CHOPSHOPCLOTHING#

Duke Dastardly

Another awesome find was this:

We actually ordered this as a Christmas gift for someone else but once it arrived it took every last ounce of our Christmas “cheer” to actually hand it over to him :p

It’s 12x18in, professionally printed on a semi gloss paper and in person it looks soo sleek. Combined with one of the glass border frames you can get most place it looks classy as the day it died. what? ya thats right lol.

More can be found here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/DukeDastardly

Hope you enjoyed and found something ghoulishly new and exciting!

more to come as we acquire it ;P

Zombie Gnomes and The Deathly Chill Of Winter

Hey there guys and ghouls!

It’s been a while since our last update so here’s what’s going on in the Zombie Gnome factory:

ICE HAS BEEN FORMING 🙁

We’ve been hibernating over the last few weeks trying to escape the clammy cold grasp of Old Man Winter.  For those of  you living in warmer climates around the world you may not be aware of him, he’s an evil bastard and he hates Canadians more than most… Something to do with all of us living in his muchly coveted northern hemisphere. Apparently, he’s not much for sharing..  So, for a few months of each year he attempts to make our lives as dreary and miserable as possible through the use of snow, wind, slush, cold weather and the awful small talk of the weather that comes with them..

Needless to say, We don’t much care for him.

So, we’ve been spending as much time as possible indoors working on spreading the infection without freezing it first :p As some of you may have seen on our facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/revenantfx) we’ve completed the first few prototypes of our smaller “Bite Size” Zombie Gnomes. We’re currently just working on smoothing out the final kinks in   producing them and then we’ll be selling them along side our full size gnomes.

Also, The Lepracadaver is quickly nearing completion as well. His latex mold is complete and as soon as we get a day of warm enough weather his fiberglass mothermold will be made and the castings of him will begin 🙂

Lastly, We got to make our first few Infected Apparel t-shirts this week. The trails and tribulations of learning to silk screen have been a non-stop uphill battle but we’re learning a little more with each attempt.  More news to come on the t-shirt front soon… In the mean time though, here’s a little preview of some future designs.

Hope you enjoy and feel free to comment, share, inquire and as always;

Spread The Infection!!

Till next time,
